Ikatan Day Spa is set in amidst a Balinese style rainforest retreat, peacefully tucked away in leafy Doonan, a short drive from Noosa Heads.

My wife and I were treated with a 2-hour + Paradise Escape package at Ikatan Day Spa.
Our treatment started with a glass of sparkles in the rainforest gardens while we waited for our therapists, Seline and Nadia to begin our escape into paradise.

And oh my, that they did. They started with a head, shoulder and neck massage, outdoors to make the most of the ambiance.

This was followed by a full body massage for over an hour in one of the treatment rooms, using the very fluid and relaxing Balinese massage technique. As they explained, Balinese massage is a gentler than other forms such as remedial or deep tissue. But it’s still very effective especially when they get in there with the elbows!

Then came the peace-di-resistance – the full body skin exfoliation followed by a steaming hot shower. The end result was shimmering sense of peace, relaxation and overall cleanliness.

I left wishing I could take my therapist with me as I could use that sort of treatment more often. But sadly that wasn’t possible so I’ll just have to wait for the next opportunity to relive the experience.
